About Børge Mogensen 2332 Two-seater Sofa
A classic piece of Scandinavian design history, the 2332 sofa is a sophisticated example of Mogensen's technical and design skills. Elegant and modern with clearly defined lines, the sofa brings simplicity and balance to any room. Thick, padded cushions provide plenty of comfort for relaxation, while the solid frame underlines the quality of craftsmanship. Upholstered by hand in aniline leather, which has a natural appearance that improves with age, this is a classic sofa that never goes out of fashion. The 2332 Sofa is available in eight colours - black, dark brown, brown, camel, sand, red, white and cream and has contrasting hardwood legs.
The story behind the Mogensen 2332 Sofa
Designed in 1971, the 2332 Sofa is part of Børge Mogensen's final furniture collection, which also included the 2333 3-seater. Following his established principles of modernism and functionalism, this so-called 2300 collection is the crowning glory of Mogensen's acclaimed career. Mogensen passed away just a year later in October 1972. The same year, he received the Honorary Royal Designer for Industry award. Børge Mogensen is remembered as one of Denmark's most visionary furniture designers who helped further the now-renowned concept of Scandinavian design internationally.
