George Nelson's original Bubble Lamp Pear was first designed in 1947 and now they have been carefully replicated by STIN, following the exact specifications of the original design. The Bubble Lamp Pear is a delicate lighting fixture that hovers gracefully from the ceiling. The white plastic, stretched across the wire frame, allows the lamp to illuminate the room it is in without giving off any glare. A simple design, the Bubble Lamp Pear earns its name from its free-flowing design that boasts a gentle shape and smooth curvature.
When George Nelson first developed his Bubble Lamp series in 1947 and since then has become an extremely popular lamp design that has become an important feature at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Due to the smart design, the use of a plastic material that is stretched over a sculpted wire frame gives it a very simplistic aesthetic. The wire frame provides a sturdy structure but also an elegant shape, which is designed to make the lamp last as well as to make it stand out.
