Hans J. Wegner CH07 Lounge Chair

They say three is a crowd, but when it comes to the Hans J. Wegner CH07 Lounge Chair, it's the perfect number. This unique 3-legged chair is a beautiful example of classic minimalist design. Our meticulously-made reproduction is as stylish and elegant as the original. The frame of the chair and three legs are carved from a choice of oak or walnut. The lightly padded seat and backrest is upholstered in semi-aniline leather, which is more resistant to stains than aniline leather. A choice of colours is available for the leather.

Hans J. Wegner's famous CH07 Lounge Chair was designed in 1963. Sometimes known as the Shell Chair or Smiling Chair because of its rounded wooden frame, it is renowned for its timeless style and generous comfort. Hans J. Wegner

1914-2007 (Denmark)

Danish furniture designer, Hans J. Wegner was a pioneer of Organic Functionality, which seamlessly merged natural shapes with practical applications. His designs significantly contribute to the international popularity of mid-century Danish design. In his lifetime he designed over 500 different chairs, over 100 of which were put into mass production and many became design icons. His most iconic designs include the Y Chair, the CH07 Lounge Chair, the Ox Chair, the Style Hoop Chair, The Chair and the Wing Chair.
