VERNER PANTON FLOWERPOT VP4 TABLE LAMP
This variation on Verner Panton's instantly recognizable Flower Pot design, the Flowerpot VP4 Table Lamp, is optimised for use at a desk or table. The Flower Pot design is so enduring, and the range is so broad, because the dual structure of the shade creates an even and glare-free light that will improve any space. The design insight in this version of the piece is the curved wire base and supporting frame. This is not only a gorgeous addition to the design, but allowed Panton to add a hinge to the top of the shade so it can be angled more accurately. Now you can achieve the perfect light for a desk or bedside table with the Flowerpot VP4 Table Lamp.
THE STORY BEHIND THE VERNER PANTON FLOWERPOT VP4 TABLE LAMP.
Verner Panton was a designer who was very much a product of his time; heavily influenced by the counterculture movement of the 1960s and the desire to innovate in a playful and subversive way. The name of the Verner Panton Flower Pot VP4 Table Lamp is inspired by the 'Flower Power' wordplay and reflects the psychedelic art scene which was sweeping the world in the late 60s. What was seen as revolutionary at the time is now firmly established as a mid-century design classic. Panton's design lives on as a timeless designer lamp because it embodies all the virtues of great mid-century Scandinavian design. The Flowerpot designs also include the Flowerpot Floor Lamp, the Flowerpot Lamp and the Flowerpot Table Lamp.
