Danish furniture designer, Hans J. Wegner was a pioneer of Organic Functionality, which seamlessly merged natural shapes with practical applications. His designs significantly contribute to the international popularity of mid-century Danish design. In his lifetime he designed over 500 different chairs, over 100 of which were put into mass production and many became design icons. His most iconic designs include the Y Chair, the CH07 Lounge Chair, the Ox Chair, the Style Hoop Chair, The Chair and the Wing Chair.

Hans J. WegnerOur Hans J. Wegner inspired Y Chair (CH24) beautifully reproduces the unique wishbone shape of the original. The Y Chair is carved from fine quality woods. Either beech, maple or walnut - or ash or oak like The Chair. You then have the choice of keeping the purity of the natural wood or having the Y Chair painted. If you opt for a rustic, natural look, we'll use oil to treat and protect the wood. Our coloured options are hand-painted with acrylic paint, which is sealed with a protective coating. This ensures the chairs not only look attractive, but they are also durable and long-lasting. Finally, the Y Chair is completed with an intricately hand-woven paper cord seat, made from over 100 metres of paper cord. The dining room
After looking at the dining room chairs with upholstery handler, we discovered quickly that our style was in the direction of this classic. Furniture retailer had a wicker chair with the paper and beech which was very similar to about 1800 kr and was of good quality. Of course we have expectations that the chair is as durable as the original and it's a very expensive car even without royalties to the descendants and a Danish furniture manufacturer in Funen.
