VERNER PANTON GLOBE LAMP

The STIN version of this iconic, unmistakable Globe Lamp design is faithful to the original and lovingly hand-crafted to produce the same effortless cool of the 1969 classic. With light being emitted in all directions, and reflected in the sleek metal shades, the dispersal of light is excellent, while Panton's signature use of curves makes it the perfect addition to any room. The choice of finish allows it to slip effortlessly into all colour schemes, while the seminal globe shape is a real conversation-starter.

THE STORY BEHIND THE VERNER PANTON GLOBE LAMP

Known for his ecclectic use of colour, shape and material, and his enduring influence on the psychedelic period of the 1960s, Verner Panton's Globe Lamp is typical of his most productive period. First released in 1969, as Panton was at the top of his game, he used the design as a way of exploring reflection as a way of accentuating light. Long fascinated by moulding curves from plyable materials like plastic, glass and fibreglass, he saw the potential in the pendant lamp medium to, at last, utilise a complete sphere, and thus the Globe Lamp was born. Among Panton's iconic lighting designs you also find the Panthella Floor Lamp, the Flower Pot Lamp and the Topan VP6 Pendant.
