POUL HENNINGSEN PH 3/2 ACADEMY ALUMINIUM
Poul Henningsen’s PH 3/2 Academy pendant Poul Henningsen’s PH 3/2 Academy chrome pendant lamp is the chandelier version of his ground-breaking 1925 PH lamp, which through its clever positioning of concentric opal glass shades (shiny on their upper sides, sand-blasted matt beneath), creates a diffused, glare-free light, which decreases in intensity as it moves away from its source.

The PH range also includes wall, floor and table lamps, with varying sizes of shade – combining two or three produces a warm, welcoming ambience that contributes immeasurably to that essentially Danish phenomenon, ‘hygge’.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Poul Henningsen
1894-1967 (Denmark)
Often said to be the first lighting architect, Danish designer, Poul Henningsen devoted much of his life to exploring the importance of light for well-being. Believing people should not be subject to the direct glare of an electrical light source, he focused on creating lamps that produced glare-free illumination. His self-titled PH series was his most famous collection and included the PH 3/2 Table Lamp, the PH Artichoke, the PH5 and PH 3½ - 2½ Floor Lamp.
