Possibly the most comfortable of the entire Series 7 range thanks to the addition of armrests, the Series 7 Armchair offers form and function. The chair is sculpted to follow the natural curves of the human body with a waterfall seat edge for increased comfort. Made from a single piece of moulded plywood, the chair's free-flowing form showcases Jacobsen's love of modernism and the less-is-more approach. Lightweight and stackable, the chair is a versatile piece that can be used round a dining table or in a home office. It can be combined to great effect with the Series 7 Chair.
Jacobsen's Series 7 is thought to be the most sold chair collection in modern history. The Series 7 began in 1955 with an adaptation of the Ant Chair and is a culmination of his use of lamination techniques in furniture design. The style of the frame is the same in all Series 7 chairs, but Jacobsen modified the surrounding parts to suit different needs. Some are on wheels, others are taller or shorter, while the Armchair is the only variation to offer arm support.
