THE STORY BEHIND THE VERNER P. PANTHELLA FLOOR LAMP

The original idea for the Panthella series was to create a lamp where the base, as well as the shade acted as reflectors to accentuate the light it created and evenly distributed it throughout a space. But Verner Panton being Verner Panton, he had to employ smooth, sweeping curves, bright gloss finishes and unique, original form. The result was the Panthella series, which remain an iconic set of designs even today, more than four decades after the lamps debuted. Among Verner Panton's other iconic designs you also find the Flower Pot Lamp, the Topan VP6 Pendant and the Onion Lamp.
