VERNER PANTON FLOWERPOT LAMP

The iconic Verner Panton Flowerpot Lamp is two hemispheres against each other - a very simple approach. Designed in 1971 by iconic designer Verner Panton, this colourful ceiling light will provide a zest of summer time into any room. Available in a wide spectrum of colours and made from a durable aluminium, the Verner Panton Flowerpot Lamp will last for years to come.

THE STORY BEHIND THE VERNER PANTON FLOWERPOT LAMP

Verner Panton was a designer who was very much a product of his time; heavily influenced by the hippy movement of the 1960s and the desire to innovate in a playfully-subversive way. The name of the Verner Panton Flowerpot Lamp is inspired by the 'Flower Power' wordplay and reflects the psychedelic art scene which was sweeping the world in the late 60s with its 'good vibrations', 'summer of love' and 'flowerpower'. What was seen as revolutionary at the time is now firmly established as a mid-century design classic.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER

Verner Panton

1926-1998 (Denmark)

Verner Panton was the first architect to work with form and design using plastic as his main material. When he created the Panton chair, the world’s first single-form, injection-moulded chair, it was considered a revolutionary technique back in the 1960s. Throughout his life Panton created innovative designs that combined materials in unconventional ways and was greatly influenced by the impact of colour on his work . Verner Panton represents design without borders. Verner Panton’s vision: to create design using unconventional techniques.

"Choosing colours should not be a gamble. It should be a conscious decision. Colours have a meaning and a function."
