After Care

We want you to enjoy your furnishings for years, and you can keep them in excellent shape by following these tips:

Leather

All of our semi-aniline leather pieces are finished with a protective surface layer to make them easier to maintain.

  • Vacuuming

Leather needs gentle treatment, so use a soft brush gently when you vacuum it so it does not scratch.

  • Washing

Slightly cooled boiled or deionized water with quality soap and foam leather cleaner will be enough to wash your leather. Use a cotton cloth to dry.

  • Leather food

Use a leather food if you want to breathe new life into your leather pieces. Test in an inconspicuous place first to ensure colorfastness. Twice a year will be plenty to maintain attractive leather.

FURNITURE CLOTHING

Our upholstery is crafted from wool and cashmere, so it is waterproof, easy to clean, and durable:

  • Vacuuming

Weekly vacuuming will keep your fabric looking optimal and remove any dust, hair, or debris that has collected. Be sure to check folds and seams where detritus can collect.

  • Washing

Any stain should be immediately treated with a wool-safe cleaner. Many of our pieces come with a manufacturer’s recommendation for cleaner. Once the stain is removed, simply wipe the upholstery with a dry cloth.

  • Grease Stains

Grease stains can be especially tricky to remove. We recommend a good chemical cleaner, which can be found in a hardware store.

WOOD & VENEER

We do our best to ensure our wood is sustainable harvested and high quality. You can bring out the best in our durable ash, maple, walnut, and oak pieces:

  • Cleaning

Dust wood furnishings weekly with a damp cloth. A wood cleaner can be added monthly.

  • Avoid permanent marks

Prevent stains and water spots on your wood furniture by using coasters or other protective coverings, never setting things directly on the wood.

  • Polishing

Every six months we recommend using a quality wood cleaner. There are many different kinds of cleaners (wax, powder, aerosol, oil) so be sure to follow the directions on the bottle you choose.

Metal

All our metal furniture and lighting is crafted from the strongest steel and iron, so it is durable and easy to maintain:

  • Cleaning

Hot water and detergent are all you need to wash metal surfaces. Use a toothbrush to reach into grooves and small spaces to clear out any dust or debris that may have accumulated so it does not discolor the metal.

  • Maintenance

Stainless steel is weather resistant and holds up well.

  • Polishing

High quality stainless steel can be polished with a polish from a hardware store. Please follow the product directions to ensure your metal stays looking new.
